The Costa Blanca Anglican Chaplaincy have formed their own choir from their congregations across the region, known as the 'Chaplaincy Singers'.
They performed their first series of concerts in December as part of the Church's Christmas celebrations. The concert was a suite of music written by Graham Kendrick called 'The Gift – Make Way For Christmas'. The music celebrates the joy of Christmas and shares the good news of the Christmas message. The concert was performed in four venues across the Costa Blanca (Denia, Javea, Calpe and Albir). Under the direction of Philip Ashley the singers were enthusiastically received by all who came to hear them.
There were twenty two members of the group for these performances, most of whom wish to continue singing as part of the Chaplaincy Singers. For the future the group aims to sing music with a religious theme, both classical church pieces, such as Panis Angelicus ranging through to popular music such as Sister Act!
