EUWMA news – The European Union of Women Marina Alta (EUWMA) received a great honour when a meeting in Benitachell was chosen as the launch of an English translation of some of the poems by feminist campaigner Maria Benyeto.
Carme Manuel Cuenca praised the women’s group EUWMA for their cooperative and inclusive policies and for their tireless work on issues of equality. President Margaret Hales said how proud she was of the committee members in their varied work. ‘One moment we are reading poetry, the next week marching through the village- in collaboration with other associations and the government in Benitachell- for the campaign of 25N and then we were practising self defense taichi techniques taught by the world master! LIfe is not boring with EUWMA’
Meanwhile preparations have been made for the Annual Meeting on Wednesday 21 January 2026 at 10.00 in the Restaurant of the Golf Club Javea. ‘Come and see what we do’, said the President. ‘Our conversations may be about serious subjects but we always have laughter and fun. We are an inclusive group dedicated to communicating women’s issues and giving information about services for women in the community of the Marina Alta. Join us as a member and receive our EUWMA news mailings. We are a friendly group!’ For information about EUWMA, see the website www.euwmarinaalta.org, on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/euwma and email euwmarinaalta@gmail.com.
