Making a better world for Women

Making a better world for WomenMaking a better world for Women – breaking barriers and building bridges!
This unique organisation of women has a special purpose, to bring together the people of Europe in peace and prosperity through co-operation and friendship.
We believe we are stronger together: women who support each other through hard times make the world a better place. Just one “for instance”, the European Union of Women Marina Alta, appealed for assistance, for someone who is having to start again in middle age, from scratch, and, as she so often does, Heidi, of PC Highway, came to the rescue and gave us a complete computer system, which has helped our new friend immensely. Heidi is one of Jávea’s earth angels. She helps so many people who are homeless or struggling, always with great empathy and a kind word of encouragement. She also runs an ethical business, so we can all help her to help others.
In July, our monthly event showcased an intriguing story of the lives of Centenarians, and unlocked elements of the mysteries of us living healthily and happily, to a ripe old age. In her introduction, vice president Marion Oprel listed some of the characteristics identified as the ‘secret’ to a long and healthy life and the film from Blue Zones showed a fascinating analysis of those ‘secrets’.
However, the interviews with Captain Peter Langley of Jávea and Emilia Pascual Pastor of Benitachell stole the show. ‘Their frankness brought laughter and tears in equal measure from us all and led to a thoughtful discussion of healthy living for 100 years’ said President Margaret Hales. Margaret thanked the team who made the day possible, including those who interviewed Peter and Emilia.
The European Union of Women Marina Alta send their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Captain Peter Langley who, sadly, passed away recently. We were privileged to interview Peter, and we are sure he would like us to continue to report on the excellent meeting we had with him, centre stage, in this video interview.
Come and join us this Autumn, without cost or obligation, and if you like what we are achieving, you can join as a member, for just 15 euros per year! Interested in keeping up to date with our constant progress, knowing first-hand about forthcoming events and being a part of our success in the Marina Alta area and beyond, then it’s a great time to contact us.
We would love to hear from you!
