Cantamus: The choir is looking for new members, in all voice groups, to join them. The choir sings a selection of spiritual or uplifting songs. Members are provided with all the music and tracks to learn to, so you can practice at home between rehearsals. Now would be a great time to contact Philip on 638 734 285 and he will be happy to give you all the details about the choir. They rehearse on a Monday morning 10:45 to 13:00 and will be happy to welcome you.
Canto Mundial are a truly international choir, based in Alfaz del Pí, with members from several different nations. The group sings a wide range of music from Classical to Musical Theatre in multiple languages. All rehearsals are conducted in English. Caprice ladies choir will be presenting two performances of their Autumn concert – Musical Reflections – in late September. The concerts will be in Jalon and Calpe and will contain a mixture of popular music to suit all tastes. Both concerts will be in support of local branches of Caritas. Further details next month. Careline Theatre: With summer upon us, Careline has just held its Careline Acadamy end of term presentation. There were a wonderful selection of dances which included Tap, Modern, Ballet and Flamenco with a rehearsed playlet in the middle of it all. Everyone received their Attendance Certificate. Jávea Players: Our Town by Thornton Wilder is “the greatest American play ever written” according to fellow playwright, Edward Albee. We follow two families during 12 years of life changes. Young lovers, Emily and George, help us experience their mundane daily life, through love and marriage and finally death: simple events which are relevant to us all. 29th October to 2nd November.
After a busy June, the Phoenix Dancers still have a few performance dates this month before taking a well deserved short summer break. TheatreSong Collective are the only choir on the Costa Blanca dedicated to musical theatre. They also include solos, duets and small group numbers in their concerts. The Vall del Pop Singers are currently inviting new singers to join them on Tuesday afternoons in Alcalalí. There is no requirement to read music and the group sing a selection of popular songs. ACTS Community Theatre After our last successful production our newly appointed Chairperson, Julie Irvine presented the Mayor of San Fulgencio with a cheque for 800€ which goes to their chosen charity fund this year for mistreated animals. The balance of 200€ each went to Helping Hands and Help at Home, both worthy causes supporting the sick and elderly and others needing assistance. Our loyal patrons enable us to continue our efforts. Andante International Choir is the only choir in the Costa Blanca community devoted to sacred choral works and classical pieces. They meet in Los Montesinos at Calle San Antonio, 4 on Thursday nights from 7.15pm until 9pm. All are welcome to join them. They especially need tenors and basses. As The Costa Blanca Singers roll out their last performance prior to taking a rest over the summer, there is excitement in the air as for the third successive year they sing at The Campo Auditorium El Raso for The Ukrainian Fiesta. This hugely popular event on 5th July is expected to once again draw support from near and far. Melody Makers is an international, mixed singing group raising money for local charities. Why not come along to our fabulous venue at the CULTURAL CENTER QUESADA, Calle del Pino, 03170, Rojales. Rojales Pantomime Group: The cast of Red Riding Hood & The 3 Little Pigs are hard at work, rehearsing and learning lines. Our costume department, headed by Julie Parker, are putting their creative talents to work creating colourful, sparkly and eye catching costumes. The panto will be performed from 11th to 13th December, 2025. We need more people for the chorus/ sailor roles. The Stagestruck Players are a Murder Mystery Group who perform original, comedy scripts in local bars to raise money for their chosen charity, the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association. The group meet weekly to rehearse and the scripts are changed regularly. Some scripts require fancy dress and a recent event at The Bar in Guardamar some members of the audience embraced the theme and dressed to impress in togas and tunics. The evening was a lot of fun and a total of €365 was raised for the charity. The whole company of Studio32 wish to give thanks to all of you who supported our latest show Sister Act. The reviews have literally been pouring in and the praise for the professionalism has kept everyone involved on a high. It gives us great pleasure to donate a total of €6,000 to local groups bringing the figure to over €54,000 since the first show in 2013. Kids Against Cancer €2,000, ECCH €500, AAN €2,000, Cruz Roja €500, Alzheimer’s €1,000. WOW. Thank you for helping us make this possible. And now, we are taking a break to rest and prepare for our next production. Dolly Parton’s hilarious 9to5 will show in May 2026.
