A Moment of Honest Reflection
As we approach the end of 2025 and drift toward the over-indulgent comfort of Christmas, it’s a natural moment to pause and take stock of the year behind us. How did your fitness journey go? Are you pleased with your progress, or do you feel a little disappointed? Did you picture yourself joining a gym, walking more, perhaps even quitting a bad habit or losing some weight? And if those plans didn’t unfold, it’s worth gently asking: what got in the way?
Life has a habit of throwing a spanner in the works. Job, family, unexpected responsibilities, overwhelm (or in my case the rollercoaster of perimenopause!) can easily pull our attention away from our goals. The important thing isn’t whether you 100% succeed – it’s whether you’re willing to look honestly at what worked, what didn’t, and WHY!?
Before we step into the holidays, I want to say thank you. Thank you to everybody who has read my articles each month, to everyone who has walked and talked with me, and to those who have joined me both online and in person for coaching. Your presence has made this an enriching year for me – one full of growth, development, and genuine human connection. I am deeply grateful.
As the festive season arrives, full of excess food, crazy gatherings, and plenty of tempting treats, I wish you a safe and happy Christmas. Enjoy it all but still try to carve out little moments to step outdoors. Walk with friends in nature. Breathe deeply. Give your mind and body a chance to reset between all the jigs and the reels.
And perhaps, as December unfolds, start thinking about what you’d like to do differently in 2026. Sometimes we need accountability. Sometimes guidance. Sometimes just a nudge in the right direction.
