Crescendo International Choir Concert – June 7

Cresendo International ChoirCrescendo International Choir performed a charity concert Friday evening, May 9, at the Casa Cultural in L’Alfas del Pi as one of three choirs participating in the International Festival of Choirs. Money raised from ticket sales was used to help victims of the DANA flooding in Valencia. More than 200 people died as a result of this catastrophe.

At this concert, Crescendo International Choir performed City of Stars from the film La La Land, Imagine by the Beatles, Thank You for the Music by ABBA, Unchained Melody from the movie Ghost and a medley of songs from the musical and film Sound of Music. Two other choirs also performed at this year’s choral festival: Coral L’Alfas Canta and Camerata Ars Cantica. At the end of the concert, all three choirs sang the rousing Italian song Funiculi, Funicula to audience acclaim.
The second Crescendo event, a beautiful mix of well-loved pop and film classic songs, took place Monday evening, May 12 at La Siesta Church, in Torrevieja. Tea, coffee and delicious muffins were provided by choir sponsor Rincon de Mateo, from Benijofar, outside the church after the concert. Almost 250 euros was raised by concert attendees in support of La Siesta Church charities.
