Musical theatre lovers are in for a treat this spring as The TheatreSong Collective brings its latest production, Curtain Up, to local stages in Gata de Gorgos and Alfaz del Pí.
The concert will take place on Friday 27th February at 8pm at the Unión Musical in Gata de Gorgos, followed by a second performance on Thursday 5th March at 7pm at The Comm in Alfaz del Pí.
Produced by Philip Ashley, Curtain Up is a lively celebration of musical theatre in all its variety. TheatreSong is not a traditional choir; instead, the group specialises in theatrical storytelling through song, combining strong harmonies with character-led performances and a relaxed, engaging stage presence.
Audiences can expect a colourful mix of well-loved songs from across the musical theatre canon, including numbers from Beauty and the Beast, Half a Sixpence, Kiss Me Kate, Jersey Boys, and more. The programme blends full ensemble pieces with intimate solos and smaller group performances, giving each song its own personality and emotional shape.
The emphasis is firmly on entertainment and connection. Whether it’s a rousing chorus, a heartfelt ballad, or a playful ensemble moment, Curtain Up aims to capture the joy and storytelling at the heart of musical theatre.
Tickets can be booked by telephone on 96 558 1483 or online via www.philipashley.com/boxoffice.php and are priced at €12.50 for the Gata de Gorgos performance and €10 for the Alfaz del Pí concert, making it an accessible and enjoyable night out for theatre fans and newcomers alike. With warmth, humour, and plenty of show-stopping moments, Curtain Up promises an evening that celebrates the magic of the stage.
