Book: The Fourth Queen.
Author: Debbie Taylor.
Publisher: Penguin Books.

It’s 1769 and a Scottish peasant girl Helen Gloag runs away from her home in Scotland and sets off to start a new life in the colonies. However out at sea the ship is captured by pirates and Helen is taken to Morocco and is sold in a slave market. She is sold into the Harem of the Emperor of Morocco.

The Harem is full of infighting and intrigue and Helen has to compete with the other girls for the attention of the Emperor. She becomes the Emperor’s favourite and hence is thrown into mortal danger.

This book is based on a true story and is a sizzling read and a must for the ladies.
