movers shakers femalefocusonline july22Nearly 80 people gathered together in El Bañet, Almoradi recently for a BBQ to raise awareness and much needed funds for the newly formed Association of Movers and Shakers.
Jo O’Halloran, chef from La Cosecha Restaurant in Benijofar, with the help of Veronica cooked up a treat of sausages, burgers and chicken with delicious accompaniments, whilst professional D.J. Barry Young entertained everyone with popular hits and games of Music Bingo, followed by dancing in the moonlight.
Local residents and friends from the surrounding area got into the spirit and raised over 1000€ for the local charity.
Association President, Marion Smith thanked everyone for their generosity and support. "It was so lovely to see everyone congregating after such difficult times and enjoy the opportunity to dance once again". said Marion.
The Association supports people and their families with: Ataxia; Huntington’s Disease; Motor Neurone Disease; Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s, all of which are neurological, life limiting illnesses, causing a very wide range of symptoms.
