ballet femalefocusonline july22 2The chance to watch young ballet stars in the making perform alongside their idols comes around just once a year. The Stars Gala of the National Association of Professional Ballet takes place at the Teatro Principal de Alicante, a grand Neoclassic theatre in the city centre.

At the end of each Russian Masters Ballet School summer intensive course, the students share the stage with the finest international performers. This year the event takes place at the Alicante theatre on Saturday July 23 with prices from €32.50 to €65.
In the past, artistes of the stature of Polina Semionova, Anna Ol, Marat Shemiunov and Elena Evseeva have taken part to celebrate the climax of the summer intensive with a magical night full of emotion.
The Star Gala will include classical and neoclassical pieces of great technical and artistic skill. Spectators can enjoy an evening with the great artists in the world of dance today as well as upcoming stars. Among those taking part are:
● Anna Ol (Dutch National Ballet). In 2008 and 2010 she won gold medals at international ballet competitions in Krasnoyarsk and Perm.
● Svetlana Bednenko (Ukraine). Svetlana Bednenko became ballet soloist at the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre when she was only 15 years old and is now a soloist of the ballet company of one of the best ballet theatres in the world - the Mikhailovsky

● Denis Matvienko (Ukraine). He has won numerous prizes and been a guest dancer for numerous companies, such as the Bolshoi, the New National Theatre of Japan, La Scala in Milan and the Paris Opera.
● Yolanda Correa (Berlin State Ballet).
Other leading artistes taking part are Young Guy Choi (Dutch National Ballet); James Stout (Dutch National Ballet); Bakhtiar Adamzhan (Astana National Ballet); and Liudmila Konovalova (Vienna State ballet)
