Baked Granola Bars

curry on cooking granola bars femalefocusonline qf march2020Home baked granola bars are great for breakfast, school and work lunch boxes, delicious as a pre/ post workout snack and a quick fix on the go. Healthier than shop bought, easy to make and adapt to suit all tastes.

100g butter
200g jumbo oats
25g chopped walnuts
25g chopped almonds
100g sunflower seeds
50g sesame seeds
3 tbsp honey
100g brown sugar
100g dried mixed fruit

- Heat oven to 160ºC/ fan 140ºC/ gas 3.
- Line a baking tin 18 x 25cm and a baking tray with parchment.
- Mix the oats, seeds and nuts well, spread on the baking tray and toast in the oven for 5-10 mins.
- Heat the butter, honey and sugar in a pan, stir until the butter is melted.
- Add the fruit and oat crumble to the syrup mix. Mix really well until all the oat mixture is well
- Tip in to the baking tin and press down lightly.
- Bake for 30 mins. Cool at room temperature in the tin, cut into bars and enjoy!
