Cantamus: The choir is looking for new members, in all voice groups, to join them. The choir sings a selection of inspirational or uplifting songs. Members are provided with all the music and tracks to learn to, so you can practice at home between rehearsals. Now would be a great time to contact Philip on 638 734 285 and he will be happy to give you all the details about the choir. They rehearse on a Monday morning 10:45 to 13:00 and will be happy to welcome you.
Canto Mundial are a truly international choir, based in Alfaz del Pí, with members from several different nations. The group sings a wide range of music from Classical to Musical Theatre in multiple languages. All rehearsals are conducted in English. Caprice ladies choir would like to wish everyone a very happy, peaceful and healthy new year. They are now perfecting the songs for their concerts ‘Songs for a Spring evening’ in March with performances in Calpe and Jalon. Careline Theatre presents their annual pantomime, The Little Mermaid” at their temporary home in the *Benidoleig Auditorium. This is a great fun show for everyone. Jávea Players: Doubt, A Parable is an inspired study in moral uncertainty with the compellingly certain structure of an old-fashioned detective drama. Set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, but still timely today, a strong-minded woman wrestles with conscience and uncertainty as she is faced with concerns about one of her male colleagues. The Phoenix Dance Group closed out the year in true festive style, delighting audiences with a lively series of performances at local Christmas fairs. As we step into the New Year, the Phoenix Dancers are excited to open its doors to fresh talent. Throughout January, the group will be recruiting new singers, dancers, and enthusiastic creatives, including prop designers and costume makers. Whether you’re an experienced performer or simply eager to try something new, the Phoenix Dancers offers a warm, supportive environment where everyone can shine. The Vall del Pop Singers are currently inviting new singers to join them on Tuesday afternoons in Alcalalí. There is no requirement to read music and the group sing a selection of popular songs. ACTS Community theatre wish everyone a Happy New Year. JOINING UP? We welcome you on 17th January from 11am until 1pm to Silverstones at Montebello, Algorfa when ACTS are holding open house for anyone at all interested in joining our happy drama group. Come along if you are curious about any aspect of theatre. We will be chatting, presenting and explaining all our activities. Andante International Choir is the only choir in the Costa Blanca community devoted to sacred choral works and classical pieces. They meet in Los Montesinos at Calle San Antonio, 4 on Thursday nights from 7.15pm until 9pm. All are welcome to join them. They especially need tenors and basses. The Costa Blanca Singers have once again delighted audiences and raised hundreds of euros for local charities throughout December. Kids Against Cancer, ECCH, AAN, Debra and Orihuela children’s orphanage were December’s chosen charities. Requests are already tumbling in to book The CBS throughout 2026. So, as we enter January, rehearsals and planning the new spring set are underway. It is easy to make contact. Crescendo International Choir: Do you like to sing? Every Monday evening Crescendo International Choir rehearses and we welcome new members. No previous experience required. Melody Makers Singing Group Quesada is an international, mixed singing group who sing a variety of music genres, from the 60s to modern day. We give lots of performances throughout the year and raise lots of money for local charities along the way. The Rojales Pantomime Group finished panto season 2025 with a bang! Three performances absolutely chock full of lovely people who had a fantastic time laughing, singing, booing and cheering their way through the story. This was a record achievement for the group as the best Pantomime in our history. Enthusiasm is so high, we are already in the throes of planning Panto 2026, so watch this space. The Stagestruck Players are a small Amateur Dramatic group who are known for performing comedy Murder Mysteries in local bars. All proceeds raised from the performances are donated to their chosen charity, the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association. The group recently made their annual donation of 5500€ to the AFA President, Purificación García at the Torrevieja Day Centre. The Stagestruck Players perform twice a month with original scripts written by their director, Leigh Humphries. Studio32 are delighted to announce that rehearsals are fully underway for their next mammoth production of the Musical 9to5. Following on from the huge success of Sister Act, the EXPO event and open evenings, there has been much local interest with new members joining the team for the next show. With auditions now complete, casting the show has been challenging, even though in a good way and that is because of the amazing talent available within Studio32. Next month, dates for show week will be announced and ticket sales will go live. Watch out for the February issue for the latest news on 9to5.
