Montgó Chorale Concert Success

Montgó Chorale and Musical Director Aileen Lightfoot were very happy last week to present their May concert at their usual Christmas venue, Iglesia de Nuestra Virgen de Loreto (also known as the Fisherman's Church) in Jávea. Promoted as a charity performance, the occasion was attended by a large and enthusiastic audience who showed their appreciation with very generous donations.
The wide-ranging programme included pieces by Handel and Karl Jenkins, a song by Billy Joel, Bach´s much loved Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring and the ever-popular Danny Boy. The last two pieces were enhanced by a flute accompaniment played by Abi Fletcher who also joined with Aileen Lightfoot on violin, and the choir´s accompanist, Kirsty Glen on piano to play a trio arrangement of Farewell to Stromness by Peter Maxwell Davies.
The proceeds will be presented to Caritas, the church’s charity that does such important and worthwhile work supporting local families in need.
A date for diaries… Montgó Chorale will be joining several other choirs for a joint concert on 12th October 2024. Further details will be available shortly.
